Dear Iraq…

That is all the elaboration needed to refute this nonsense that Saddam Hussein Iraq is trying to stir up.

Kuwait summoned Iraq’s envoy yesterday to protest against remarks attributed to an Iraqi official that Baghdad does not recognise the border between the two countries, the state news agency Kuna said.
The frontier was demarcated by the UN after the 1991 Gulf War that ended a seven-month Iraqi occupation of Kuwait. It was recognised by the government of then-Iraqi leader Saddam Hussain who had ordered the invasion of the Gulf state.
Kuna said the foreign ministry handed Iraqi ambassador Mohamed Bahr al-Uloum a letter expressing “strong protest” over the comments it said were made by Qais al-Azzawi, Iraq’s representative to the Arab League. Kuna said the comments were carried by an Arabic-language website.
Kuwait demanded “an official explanation of the remarks” from Baghdad, according to the agency.
Kuna said the website quoted the Iraqi envoy as saying Iraq did not recognise the post-war demarcation and that it was a major problem between the two countries.
