I adore the fact that the game is a humorous homage to early dungeon crawlers:
- In the same manner as Demon’s Souls, it penalizes you if you die. At the same time it does not go as far and seems to only re-spawn you at the entrance of the dungeon, with your progress saved.
- I appreciate the fact the game’s sense of humor in it knowing that it’s a generation of three-dimensional games, and makes a jab at how it, as little as possible, simply sprouts out of the ground graphics-wise while retaining its integrity as a tribute.
- It’s a solid action RPG.
- The story is delibrately bland, which focuses more attention on the game play.
- It’s delightful that the optional heroes are also quite humorous in their brief backstory. One of them is a car.
